Carbonic Systems Incorporated traces its origins to 1935, when Clarence Williams founded Pipe Welding Supply in a modest 400-square-foot facility on William Street in Elmira, New York. In the 1950s, Clarence's son-in-law, Charles E. Loew, assumed leadership and guided the company through a period of substantial expansion. In 1988, Clarence's grandson, Charles "Chuck" W. Loew, divested the welding supply operations to concentrate exclusively on the sales and service of carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚) and related COâ‚‚ systems. The company was officially renamed Carbonic Systems Incorporated in 1992. Following Chuck's retirement, his sister, Kathryn "Kathy" E. Casey, took over leadership. Together with her husband, Scott Casey, they steered the company through more than three decades of remarkable growth. Scott retired in 2023. After Kathy's unexpected passing in 2024, Chuck returned as Chairman. Tim Krusen was appointed President and CEO to lead Carbonic Systems Incorporated into its next chapter.
Today, two of Kathy’s children, Cassandra Miller and James Czech represent the fourth generation of family ownership of Carbonic Systems Incorporated. The business continues to focus on providing superior service and excellent value to a growing list of customers throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the New England states.
